Stefan M. Reinke

Stefan M. Reinke is a partner practicing in the area of civil litigation. His practice includes tort, product liability, asbestos, professional liability, employment, and insurance bad‑faith litigation cases.

Mr. Reinke’s practice includes the defense of cases for and on behalf of Companies and their insurers in substantial exposure cases, including cases in State and Federal courts. Over the years, Mr. Reinke and the firm have represented businesses and individuals in high-profile cases involving wrongful death and serious injuries in the state of Hawaii. Mr. Reinke regularly represents employers in discrimination and wrongful termination claims and other claims involving violations of state and federal law.

Mr. Reinke is admitted to practice in the State of Hawaii, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii.

Mr. Reinke is on the panel of neutrals of Dispute Prevention & Resolution, and he serves as a labor arbitrator for disputes involving employers and unions.

Mr. Reinke is a Lecturer at the William S. Richardson School of Law. He teaches Pre-trial Litigation. He previously taught business law at Windward Community College.  He has been a featured speaker at several seminars to lawyers, members of the community, and trade and insurance industry groups. His professional publications include “Restrictive Covenants and Trade Secrets,” Employment Law Basics, Defense Research Institute, Monograph, 1997.

Mr. Reinke received his A.B. in Political Science and Communication from the University of Southern California in 1981. He received his J.D. in 1984 from the University of California at Davis.

Mr. Reinke achieved an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Who’s Who in American Law (1990‑present).

Mr. Reinke is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association and the Hawaii State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association (Hawaii Chapter President from 1995 to 1997; 1999 to 2000).

Outside the practice of law, Mr. Reinke served on the Board of Directors of Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii (President from 2000 to 2001), The Children’s Discovery Center, the Board of Directors for the Hawaii Centers for Independent Living and the Board of Directors of the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation (President 2012-2013). He is currently President of the Waikiki Roughwater Swim Committee and serves as an advisor to local race directors for running, swimming and triathlon events.

Mr. Reinke is a triathlon coach with Boca Hawaii. He regularly competes in open water long distance swim events and ocean swim races.
