Dave K. Miyamoto joined the firm as an associate in 2022 and practices in the area of civil litigation.
Mr. Miyamoto was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai`i and graduated from `Iolani School. He attended Occidental College and graduated with a B.A. in Biological Sciences (2016). In 2018, Mr. Miyamoto graduated from Hawai`i Pacific University with a M.S. in Marine Sciences. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Miyamoto worked as a paralegal at a local law firm.
Mr. Miyamoto graduated, Cum Laude, from the University of Hawai`i William S. Richardson School of Law in 2022. While in law school, he earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Business Associations and completed judicial externships with Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald and the Honorable James H. Ashford. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing (Lawyering Fundamentals I and II), and as a Research Assistant for Professor Richard Wallsgrove. Mr. Miyamoto was the recipient of the Cades Schutte Scholarship; the McCorriston, Miller, Mukai, MacKinnon Scholarship; and the Class of 1977 Scholarship. He also served as the Vice President for Phi Delta Phi, and as a Staff Editor for the Asian-Pacific Law and Policy Journal.
Mr. Miyamoto is admitted to practice law in the State of Hawai`i and the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawai`i. He is a member of the Hawai`i State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
